Charitable Foundation
What It Does
The TSH Charitable Foundation, Inc. was created in 2009 through the generosity of Mrs. Patricia Alexander Anderson. The vision of the Foundation is to continue her life's work and be a legacy for future generations. She has set a great example for her family and local community, below are just a few organizations TSH Charitable Foundation has supported through many years in the Catawba County area.
The Mission
Its mission is to meet needs in underserved populations and provide support to programs that will sustain positive change and growth of our community now and into the future. In particular, the Foundation funds programs that further religious service and missions, enhance educational experiences for all ages (especially for those with learning differences), provide a safe and healing environment for those seeking life-changing circumstances, or advance the humane treatment of animals.

History
The Foundation's home is in the Catawba Valley region of Western North Carolina. Mrs. Anderson's ancestors settled here before 1817. Nine generations of the family have lived and worked in Western NC. Ms. Anderson grew up in Statesville, North Carolina. Although her family lived in “the city”, they a large garden behind their home which they tended every evening after work during the growing season. Pat’s father drove a bread delivery truck for Kern’s Bakery for his career. After raising Pat and her two siblings, Pat’s mother worked as a bookkeeper for a Statesville plumbing company. Pat and her mother attended Appalachian State Teachers College.
Pat’s parents worked hard. Not only did they grow up during the Great Depression and started their family during World War II, they lived in a society which was evolving from a purely agricultural community to one which was based on manufacturing and other industry. Whether you were a farmer or factory worker, you worked hard day in and day out in 20th century North Carolina.
Today
Pat Anderson along side her oldest daughter, Angela Simmons, continue working with local organizations to this day. It is obvious to those around them that bettering their community is a priority they both share. Many of the businesses and volunteer organizations that have been supported by the TSH Foundation are helping people in need every day. The example Pat and Angela have set for their community will always be remembered and embraced in the affects the foundation has had.
