Meet The Team
Angela Simmons, CFA
Owner/Manager
Angela B. Simmons is the Founder and Owner of ABS Legacy Partners, a SEC registered advisory firm dedicated to helping successful families manage their wealth in a comprehensive manner.
Angela's professional career in investment management spanned 28 years at Everett Harris & Co., a boutique Los Angeles-based registered investment advisor founded in 1937. As a partner, financial analyst, and portfolio manager, she managed diversified portfolios of stocks and bonds for affluent clients, developing deep expertise in investment strategy, asset allocation, and long-term wealth preservation.
Angela also gained a unique wealth perspective from her own family experience. Her father sold his privately-held company in 1995, and Everett Harris & Co. assumed responsibility for managing the family's liquid assets. What quickly became clear was that investment management alone was not enough to meet her family’s needs. Angela helped to oversee the creation of trusts for long term asset protection, life insurance portfolios, tax planning, investment partnerships, charitable foundations, real estate holdings, large philanthropic gifts, bill payment administration, tax compliance coordination, and private investments. Eventually, Angela institutionalized these services by establishing a family office dedicated to managing the full complexity of the family’s wealth.
ABS Legacy Partners was founded in 2011 as the successor to Beaver Family Investments. Created to provide integrated financial management services beyond traditional investment management, the firm combines investment oversight, with legacy planning, philanthropy, and basic financial tasks such as cash flow management and bill pay through a technology-enabled platform that brings a family's financial life into one coordinated framework. Angela's vision has always been to simplify, when possible, create transparent, easy to understand reporting, and help families experience peace of mind in their financial matters.
In addition to her leadership at ABS Legacy, Angela continues to oversee her family's investment interests, while supporting entrepreneurial ventures and private investments across a variety of industries. Her experience as both a professional investment manager and a family office principal gives her a rare perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing families with substantial wealth.
Angela earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy Studies from Duke University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) designation. She is an active member of the Family Office Counsel, where she serves on the Executive Committee, as well as the Carolinas Family Office Forum, Duke Women's Impact Network, and the James B. Duke Society. Her commitment to community service and philanthropy includes leadership roles with multiple charitable organizations and foundations, including the Beaver Family Foundation, the Patrick Beaver Scholarship Foundation, and the TSH Charitable Foundation. She also served eight years on the Hickory Public Schools Board of Education, including two years as Board Chair.
Angela is passionate about helping families steward wealth across generations, supporting the causes they care about, and creating a lasting impact through thoughtful planning and intentional decision-making. She and her husband, Jeff, are proud parents of eight children.
Noah Hannon
Chief Operating Officer
Noah Hannon is the Chief Operating Officer and Investment Adviser Representative (IAR) of ABS Legacy Partners. Since its founding in 2011, ABS Legacy Partners has transitioned from a single-family office to an SEC-registered advisory firm, expanding its ability to provide comprehensive wealth management, investment advisory oversight, and family office services. Noah helps families simplify financial complexity, protect and growth their assets, and build meaningful advisor relationships through a comprehensive financial platform that addresses not only big picture investment decisions, but day to day financial assistance and lifestyle needs management.
Noah joined ABS Legacy Partners in 2023. His leadership helps guide operational strategy, as well as client service delivery with the goal of conscientious expansion for the firm signing on limited numbers of clients yet being able to deliver state-of-the-art technology solutions. Operational strategies under Noah’s supervision include financial reporting, client communications, fiduciary support, data management, and outside advisor coordination. He serves successful families, business owners, and entrepreneurs.
Noah started his financial services career at Truist Financial as part of Truist's Leadership Development Program where he gained broad exposure to the banking industry. He then advanced to Banking Officer and Credit Portfolio Manager within Truist Wealth's Specialty Wealth Division. In that role, he managed sophisticated credit portfolios for high-net-worth individuals and families, including clients within the Medical Specialty and Sports & Entertainment groups.
Noah's leadership style was forged at Appalachian State University where he was a four-year starting center, team captain, and two-time First Team All-Sun Belt Conference selection. He started all 52 games of his collegiate career and became one of only a handful of players in program history to achieve 50 consecutive starts. Beyond the field, he served as President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council and as a student-athlete representative on the University's Athletics Council, experiences that strengthened his passion for leadership, teamwork, and accountability.
Those same principles continue to shape Noah's approach today. He believes that successful wealth management extends far beyond investment performance—it requires aligning financial decisions with a family's values, goals, and long-term vision. His passion lies in helping families create clarity around their wealth, navigate important transitions, and make confident decisions that impact future generations.
Outside of ABS Legacy, Noah is deeply committed to serving his community and supporting the next generation of leaders. Noah sits on the advisory board for Family Enterprise USA Action. Noah completed the Certified Financial Planning education program through NC State University and currently holds the Series 65 certification.
He lives in the Charlotte area with his wife, Julia, their daughter, and their two dogs. When he's not working with clients, he enjoys spending time with family, playing golf, and investing in the communities that helped shape his journey.
